Individual Counselling

“I work alongside clients to help them explore and express their emotional difficulties, to consider what they might want to change in their lives and how they will do that. Together we look at how old patterns of behaving or relating might be impacting on the here-and-now, and what might need revisited or updated. I offer clients an empathic supportive relationship with gentle, thoughtful challenge”
I work solely in private practice as an independent psychotherapist, counsellor and supervisor. I have experience of working with clients with a range of concerns and difficulties including:
- Attachment issues
- Abuse: emotional, physical and sexual
- Depression and low mood
- Anxiety, panic attacks and stress related issues
- Bereavement
- Loss and change i.e. retirement, divorce, ’empty nest’ syndrome
- Relationship issues
- Living with chronic illness and disability
- Low self-esteem and self-worth
- Issues around sexuality and sexual orientation
- Pre- and post-natal depression
- Trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder
- Work related issues
- Issues of identity

“Our early relationships and experiences influence our ways of being in the world, and act as templates for our relationships. We often need to understand and acknowledge our past to make sense of our present circumstances. This allows us to make changes to improve our future wellbeing.”
